Principles

My practice has evolved over many years from a passion towards arts, craft, the environment and the power of relationship with the objects we use everyday to our sense of well-being. I use the creative process as an expression of my desire to return to the art of manufacturing; when you knew the person who made each stitch of your garment and each item was one-of-a-kind.

I am driven by these principles:

Each product incorporates new with old, using fabrics from my Vintage Collection, natural fillings including buckwheat husks and alpaca wool and using off cuts until they are smaller than a patch. Each product is for this reason completely unique.

100% Hemp Tea TowelsNo. 2 Locally Sourced Products that support small business

The fabric used for each product is sourced from my collection of vintage and recycled fabrics, along with Hemp and Hemp/Cotton from locally sourced manufacturers. I support Alpaca Famers in Victoria and Buckwheat Husk growers in Queensland. I believe in keeping “The Main Street” vibrant and sell both online and in retail stores for this reason, without undercutting the retail outlets and keeping prices fair.

No. 3 The true Value of Hand Made

Each item is made lovingly by hand with the understanding that manufacturing is an art. Each product is made with loving intention for those who will use them and withe respect for each aspect of the object.
