Carrot – Danvers

A seed that has been saved since 1871, sweet and tender, heat tolerant and adapts to all soils, stores well.

Kale – Dwarf SiberianDSC_0449_Anne_Old

High in Vitamin A, eat young leaves raw and soak older leaves in hot water before stir frying or cooking. Compact plant 300mm – 400mm, very hardy and prolific. Keep well watered. Sow late Summer and Autumn.

Kale Chips

Cut Kale leaves into large portions

Place on tray with baking paper and cover generously with oil and salt

Bake in oven at 190degrees celcius until crip

 

Leek – Carentan (Allium ampeloprasum var. porrum)

Rich in Vitamin C, sulphur, potassium and calcium.

They like a deep, rich soil. Harvest at 2 cm thick, stores well in fridge. Sow Autumn to Spring in warmer areas.
